As part of the Model Village Programme, Nidan continues to work towards holistic rural development across selected villages in Chatra district, Jharkhand, with a focus on clean water, healthcare, education, sustainable agriculture, and women’s livelihood opportunities.
In Village Piri, the Nidan team mobilized the local community and successfully repaired a non-functional hand pump to restore access to safe drinking water. During the repair work, six pipes were replaced and repaired, ensuring the long-term functionality of the water source.
As a result, 8–10 households will now have permanent access to safe drinking water, while additional villagers passing through the area will also benefit from this facility.
This intervention reflects Nidan’s commitment to practical, community-driven solutions that improve daily life and strengthen rural infrastructure — advancing development one village at a time.
