Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society (BRLPS) – Jeevika is organising “Saras Mela” at Gyan Bhavan, Gandhi Maidan, Patna from 12 to 21 September 2025. The fair serves as a dynamic platform for women’s empowerment, especially for Jeevika Didis who are associated with various state government livelihood schemes.
This year, with the support of GAIN and Nidan, the Sangam CLF of Musahari, Muzaffarpur has launched its first-ever fortified snack range with improved branding, packaging, marketing, and networking.
Unlike many commonplace FMCG snacks filled with sugar, palm oil, and chemical preservatives, these nutrient-dense healthy snacks are crafted from millets, groundnuts, dates, and bengal gram — making them a healthier, natural alternative.
The SHG women participating in the fair have also been trained in sales, marketing, stock management, and revenue handling, helping them build strong entrepreneurial skills.
Through Saras Mela, rural women entrepreneurs gain greater visibility, access to new business opportunities, and the confidence to lead change in their communities — combining empowerment with healthier living.
