Nidan has re-energized its commitment to rural development by re-launching targeted initiatives in partnership with its CSR collaborators across key districts in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra. These efforts are rooted in the belief that holistic rural development holds the transformative power to uplift underserved and marginalized communities. By focusing on critical areas such as health, sanitation, nutrition, environmental sustainability, education, and livelihood enhancement, the program aims to create a lasting impact on the lives of those most in need. Each intervention is designed to address local challenges while empowering communities to take charge of their own development journey.

With a strong foundation of grassroots experience and deep institutional capability, Nidan is strategically implementing these initiatives in Madhubani district (Bihar), Chatra district (Jharkhand), and Dhule district (Maharashtra). These regions, while rich in potential, face numerous socio-economic hurdles that require inclusive, people-centric solutions. Nidan’s approach blends innovation with community engagement to ensure meaningful change, and our dedicated teams on the ground are working tirelessly to translate these visions into measurable outcomes. Together with our CSR partners, we are committed to building healthier, more resilient, and self-sustaining rural communities.

This project focuses on transforming a cluster of seven villages in the Babubarhi block of Madhubani district, Bihar, through a holistic, community-led development approach. The intervention addresses interconnected challenges such as low household income, limited livelihood security, inadequate access to quality education and healthcare, poor infrastructure, malnutrition, and social exclusion. The project places communities, especially women, farmers, artisans, and micro-entrepreneurs at the centre of change, strengthening local institutions and building collective leadership to create resilient and self-reliant villages. The project aims to enhance economic and livelihood opportunities for both farmers and non-farm workers through skill development, entrepreneurship support, market linkages, formation of Farmer Interest Groups and Self-Help Groups, and enterprise facilitation. It also works toward improving early childhood care and learning environments by upgrading Anganwadi centres and schools, strengthening health and nutrition awareness, organising health and counselling camps, and promoting sanitation and environmental responsibility through initiatives such as soak pits, vermicomposting, and community-owned resources. By fostering stakeholder coalitions, building Village Development Councils, and encouraging community ownership, the project seeks to create model villages that demonstrate sustainable livelihoods, improved education and health outcomes, stronger social participation, and long-term socio-economic transformation.
