As part of the ongoing Madhubani Project, a training programme for Self-Help Group (SHG) office bearers was organised in the Babubarhi block of Madhubani district, Bihar. The training aimed to enhance the leadership, organisational, and decision-making capacities of SHG representatives, enabling them to play a more effective role in local development processes.
During the session, participants were oriented on the roles and responsibilities of SHG office bearers, financial discipline, group coordination, and opportunities for strengthening livelihoods at the community level. The training also encouraged collective leadership and greater participation of women in planning and implementing development initiatives.
This activity is a key step toward building strong community institutions and promoting women-led, inclusive, and sustainable development across the project villages.
