On the occasion of International Women’s Day (8 March), a series of community workshops were organized across the villages of Chaurahi, Murhaddi, Pirhi, and Satghara in Madhubani. The day was celebrated as a tribute to the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, while reinforcing the importance of rights, equality, and collective action.
The workshops were centred around the theme “Rights, Equality and Empowerment for Women and Girls”, aiming to spread awareness and encourage dialogue on key issues affecting women and girls in rural communities. Participants discussed the importance of education, safety, dignity, and equal opportunities, highlighting the need to create an inclusive and supportive environment for women.
The sessions also emphasized women’s empowerment and self-reliance, encouraging women to actively participate in decision-making processes within their families and communities. Through these interactions, the initiative sought to strengthen confidence among women and promote a sense of collective responsibility towards gender equality.
Overall, the workshops created a positive and engaging platform for community members to come together, celebrate women’s contributions, and reaffirm their commitment to building a more equitable and empowered society.
