Under the LIC HFL Hriday Project, implemented by Nidan, Poonam Devi, a member of a Self-Help Group from Satgharwa Mushari, received a refrigerator to support her small business. The addition of the refrigerator enabled her to stock cold beverages, water, ice cream, and other food items, helping her attract more customers and expand her sales.
As a result, her daily income increased from approximately ₹1,000 to ₹1,500, a significant improvement. Poonam Devi’s journey highlights how timely support and access to resources can strengthen livelihoods, promote women’s economic empowerment, and create pathways to greater self-reliance.
