As part of the holistic rural development initiative in Babubarhi Block, Madhubani district, a one-day educational exposure visit was organised at Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa for 40 selected farmers from four project villages.
The objective of the visit was to promote sustainable, natural, and environmentally responsible agricultural practices. Farmers received practical, science-based training on natural farming methods, vermicomposting, and the preparation of Jeevamrit, while also being sensitised to the adverse effects of indiscriminate use of chemical pesticides on soil fertility, environmental sustainability, and public health.
The session was led by organic farming expert Prof. Shankar Jha and agricultural scientist Ratnesh Jha, who guided farmers through demonstration units and explained concepts in a simple, hands-on manner.
This exposure visit marks an important step toward capacity building, knowledge enhancement, and the promotion of self-reliant and sustainable farming systems, reinforcing the project’s vision of community-led, long-term socio-economic transformation.
